The Knudson File: 10-Year Treasury Spreads Now Above Historical Average

The 10-year U.S Treasury rate increased by 1 bps for the week ending February 11th, 2022.  One year U.S Treasury rates increased 18 bps, while the yield curve flatten due to this change. The rate difference between a 5-year and a 10-year Treasury is 8 bps which, indicates a relatively flat yield curve.

30-year home mortgage rates increased 14 bps this week, thus the spread between 30-year mortgages and 10-year Treasuries is now 197 bps which is 29 bps above THE HISTORICAL AVERAGE.
